National Honor Society
The National Honor Society was established in 1921 and the Prairie Seeds Academy Chapter of the National Honor Society (PSA NHS) was established in 2011. Four pillars lay the foundation of the core values of NHS which our members work diligently to exhibit in their school and community: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.
PSA's NHS Selection Process
Students in 10th - 12th grade with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and have been enrolled at Prairie Seeds Academy for at least one academic semester will be invited to apply for NHS membership in the fall of each school year. Invited students need to submit a Student Activity Information Form for the Faculty Council to review. After the Faculty Council reviews the material, approved students are eligible for induction during the induction ceremony. PSA's NHS induction ceremony is held in the fall of every year.
Requirements/Expectations
To remain in good standing, a student needs to maintain a B or higher throughout each semester, complete at least four volunteer hours each month with documentation, and attend bimonthly meetings. NHS meetings are held twice a month during advisory and attendance is required. Any noncompliance with these requirements may result in a member’s dismissal.
