Who We Are

Prairie Seeds Academy (PSA) was founded in 2004 by two Hmong administrators, husband and wife. Their passion is to make a difference in the lives of young people especially those who are under-represented in the communities. Prairie Seeds Academy is taking a personal approach in teaching to what is relevant to students and their lives. PSA is using data to determine the instructional focus benefitting students in reading, writing and math to ultimately reduce the achievement gap.

Mission Statement

The mission of Prairie Seeds Academy is to provide quality, relevant and multicultural education ( www.education.state.mn.us )for all children.  Therefore, the school will continuously promote the collaborative efforts and opportunities between children, parents, teachers, and the community.  Prairie Seeds Academy will focus on these four  cornerstones surrounding the educational philosophy of the school:

  1. A rigorous educational program focusing on core content areas and standards mandated by the state of Minnesota in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies
  2. Heritage (native) language and culture
  3. Multicultural arts, crafts, and music
  4. Responsive classroom/social curriculum

Vision Statement

We believe that each child will reach their highest potential through an educational program building upon their learning styles, language development, life experiences, and cultural backgrounds. Our goals is to ensure each child can identify with their own culture and its invaluable significance. They will know and understand who they were and where they came from.  This strong base will aid Prairie Seeds Academy students to become mature and successful adults in today's diverse society.
